Lunar New Year at Universal Studios Hollywood

Year of the Pig will be celebrated under customary red Chinese lanterns and stunning plum blossom Wishing Trees at this years Lunar New Year event taking place within Universal Plaza inside Universal Studios. The festivities come to life as you discover the 12 zodiac animal signs accompanied by their symbolic attributes. Ever been? We have enjoyed this annual celebration for the past three years now and always enjoy all the fun character meet and greets plus it gives my girl a great excuse to wear a beautiful dress.

Share your New Year’s wishes at the Wishing Trees.

The highlight to this years celebration is once again the DreamWorks’ Kung Fu Panda Jade Palace Performance Stage that is host to the exciting Dragon Warrior Training Show based on the beloved Kung Fu Panda franchise. This Kung Fu Panda experience engages guests of all ages in an interactive martial art demonstration performed by Master Po and friends. TIP: Get there early and sit up front. They choose 5 people at random from the audience and it’s a blast to be a part of as much as it is to watch. Kids that are selected and perform on stage are given an academy headband to wear in honor of their training!

Be sure to catch the Tale of Lunar New Year immediately before the Kung Fu Academy to learn about the origin of the special celebration. Guest participation is welcomed.
