Chivalry is still alive at Medieval Times

Chivalry is still alive at Medieval Times in Buena Park

The Andalusians are masters of grace and strenght

Is it bad I have a thing for Medieval Time Dinner and Tournament? I mean sure it's basically the same meal and show each time but going once (okay maybe twice) a year, is that really wrong? I guess you could call me a late Socal attractions bloomer of sorts, my first visit to the castle was only 3 years ago. Being a SoCal native, I guess some things just get taken for granted or thought of as just a tourist destination. Since introducing the show to my daughter, we both still get a kick out of it each time we visit. Sometimes with go as a family, others just the two of us and sometimes with friends. Whoever you decide to visit with, it's always a fun time, good food and getting that flower from your knight is pretty sweet too.

The all so commercial holiday is upon us, the dreaded by many Valentine's Day. Honestly, I feel it is so overrated and hyped up, the created expectations can flat out ruin the day, right? Got me also thinking about the crowds, the lack of good service due to most places being slammed and how we are all forced to outdo ourselves for because someone decided to make this a holiday. Dismount soap box here.....

A Falconer and her royal falcon, just one of the many facets of this show.

So I thought, why not just go out to a casual place and just have a great time! Can that be all that much to ask? Insert Medieval Times, a one stop shop for a show, dinner and maybe a libation or two. Life is too serious, this place is just fun and the best excuse to eat with your hands if you ask me. Well if this sounds like a good idea to you, they have you and your special someone covered in a big way with their Valentine's Day deal.

The king himself and the chancellor
