House of Blues New Flagship Venue Will Rock Anaheim
House of Blues New Flagship Venue will Rock Anaheim!
For those who love their live music, join me in saying, oh how we have missed thee HoB! Even with the word of the exciting plans to make the move to The Anaheim GardenWalk, it still didn't make the closing down of it's Downtown Disney location any easier last May. After almost a year hiatus, the music is back and it's going to blow your mind! I was among several media outlets who witnessed the placing of the iconic water tower on the roof and got a special hard hat tour of the soon to be opened House of Blues. I can guarantee you it is going to be THE IT place to be in Orange County!
A little back history to bring us full circle, shall we. It all started with 80 investors including the likes of Dan Aykroyd, Jim Belushi and Aerosmith along with the founder of the Hard Rock Cafe Isaac Tigrett. Fast forward to today and under new ownership by Live Nation, The House of Blues Restaurant and Bar is celebrating it's 25 year anniversary and the new location in Anaheim will be there flagship venue by which all others will gasp with envy. This move was in response to the need for more space and in moving allowed for the addition of the Foundation Room that it's prior location could not provide. This Foundation Room will host exclusive nightly entertainment and have it's own dedicated bar all with an amazing birds eye view of the main concert hall below.
HoB has always strived to bring the most one of a kind space planning to get fans up close and personal with the artists and this new location is by far going to exceed this vision. By creating four amazingly unique areas within the space for entertainment, it will accommodate 3,300 music lovers in all. The Perish (400 Capacity) The Foundation Room (175 capacity) the Main Concert hall (2,200 capacity) and the restaurant and bar area (450+ capacity). The entire venue size spans over 44,000 square feet, created with the state of the art lighting and sound it also boasts an immense showcase of it's vast collection of American Folk Art and original sculptures. Reclaimed architectural materials are incorporated into the decor of the spaces seamlessly and the aged finished on the walls create an a killer ambiance.
The overall theme is loud and clear when it comes to their menu items "It's food for the soul". Offering made from scratch food that will fill the void in your pit, they pulled inspiration from the south with dishes like their Voodoo Shrimp and New Orleans Jambalaya. They will also tempt you with some finger smacking BBQ that is smoked on site, I tried them and they were amazing! Signature cocktails and local craft beers will also be featured throughout the different spaces making it not only live music destination but one that also offers some righteous libations and stick- to-your- ribs eats.
In the end, the spaces are all geared towards showcasing legendary artists while keeping an intimate connection with the audience. With opening slated for the end of February, it's kicking off the occassion with a sold out performance by Social Distortion On February 28th and March 1st. This opener is followed by some amazing talent worthy of the space and the HoB brand. Tickets are on sale now for shows heading all the way into September, check their site out for dates and performers and secure your tickets now.
