Kit Kat Santa Sleighs that are Simple to Make

It's a Pinterest Win with this easy to make Kit Kat Santa Candy Sleigh

Have you attempted something on Pinterest and had a Pinterest fail? Ha! Well this one I guarantee to be an epic win and have everyone ohhing and ahhing over them. I found this idea a few years back on Pinterest and made a couple tweaks of my own and are my go-to for giving each year. I usually make them for my daughter's class Christmas party and to add them to wrapped gifts for the kids. Wanna give them a try, they are easy peasy with the simple steps below, seriously!

I have listed what I use and added the easy steps it takes to make these cute sleighs. I won't kid you though, if making quantities like I normally do (over 40) , they are a bit time consuming but with a little assembly line prep they really are worth it in my opinion.

Here's a list of what you will need:

  1. Kit Kats (the single serving packages that have 4 bars)

  2. Hershey's Nugget Variety Bag

  3. Ribbon (narrow is better)

  4. Candy Canes (assorted colors/Flavors of choice)

  5. Hot Glue Gun/Sticks

  6. *Optional Name tags

Here's how to make the Sleighs:

It uses 1- Kit Kat, 7 Hersheys and 2 Candy Canes per Sleigh

  1. Take 1 Kit Kat Package and add a dab of hot glue to the bottoms of 4 chocolate squares

  2. Add 2 more squares facing the opposite direction adding a dab of glue at the bottom

  3. Finally add the last piece to the top as shown

  4. Measure out a piece of ribbon to go over and under the sleigh and glue to bottom

  5. Cut another piece of ribbon and make a bow at the top. Add tag if desired.

  6. Add a line of hot glue to the candy canes and stick to bottom evenly spaced

I find it is best to get the Kit Kats and the bag of Hershey's at Costco as they sell them in the large box/bag, if you don't need so many target has them for a fair price. The Candy Canes I picked up at target, they always have a great variety. Also I prefer ribbon over pre made bows, looks much prettier, don't you agree? I used narrow ribbon and if I run out you can just cut a wider ones you may have on hand in half.

Tips: I find it best to measure and then pre cut the ribbons. I also set out the piles of candy needed per sleigh to get the job done the fastest. If you are going to add name tags, pre print add a hole with a hole punch and address them ahead of time before attaching. Cute right? Happy crafting and Happy Holiday giving everyone!
