During this intimate behind the scenes walking tour, you will get a close up, lights on look at all the rooms within 3 different mazes. For 49 years, Knott’s Scary Farm has been the leader, innovator, and now creator of this one of a kind opportunity. So you claim to be a haunt fan, well here’s your opportunity to geek out like never before!

Wax Works Behind the Fog Tour Knott’s Scary Farm

Are you a slow and steady haunt fan who lives for all the details, easter eggs and atmosphere of a maze? Or are you the get behind your brave friend, looking down- rushing through the maze as fast as you can type? Well no matter what kind of a haunt fan you are, guess what…this tour is for you! Led by the very informed docents of Knott’s Scary Farm, you will traverse 3 different mazes in their full glory with all the lights on so that every detail, every blood splatter and every decaying prop can be seen in all its gore. Your tour guides will take you room by room describing the complete storyline behind 3 mazes without any scare actors, special effects or sounds of any kind.

So here’s the deal! There are a total of 6 mazes that are within the rotation of this tour, you will experience 3 at random on any given tour day. The total tour time is 3 hours split between the 3 mazes which include Wax Works, The Depths, Dark Entities, Origins, Mesmer and Dark Ride. Sorry no spoilers guys, none of the new mazes are included as they don’t want to spoil them. During your lights on tour you will learn the entire plot of the maze, discover Easter Eggs and activation points within some of the scenes while seeing everything up close and personal. You will also have several opportunities to take pictures and video within specific rooms of the mazes. On top of that, you will receive a Scary Farm Beyond the Fog Lanyard and collective pin along with light refreshments.

Here’s what you should know before you go!

• Wear comfortable shoes, you will be walking all corners of the park.

• Bring your camera, photos and video are welcome

• Plan to spend 3 hours within the park for your tour

• Groups are kept small at around 15 guests maximum

• Feel free to ask all the questions you want!

• Some of the mazes are not air conditioned so wear appropriate clothing for the date you book.

• Parking is not included but you can use your season pass parking if you have it

• Park admission is not included, you will enter via CDR

• Tour times are every 30 minutes between 10am and 1:30. See knott’s .com for dates.

• As is Knott’s Scary Farm, this tour is not recommended for ages under 13.

It takes a creative team along with talented actors to bring a maze to life. This tour focuses on the very important and mostly unseen aspect since the lights are normally so dim. If you are any level of a haunt fan, this is a must do tour. Besides being able to see the finished products created by all the talented trades, you will learn some tricks and techniques used along the way.

Trust me when I say you will see and experience mazes with a who new perspective. You will see things I guarantee you will or have missed in the dark. Rooms you perceived to be huge are actually really small. Thought you were indoors, nope, above you might just be the nighttime sky.

One last thought. Please don’t bring kids under 13 if you feel they are not ready or can’t behave during the 3 hour walking tour. There is lots of talking and listening as well as conversations that some younger audiences, although they might be able to visually handle the gore, might not find as interesting as adults would… just my .02. For me, I can see where it could potentially spoil the experience.
