CHOC WALK In The Park Date Announced for 2024 at the Disneyland Resort

CHOC WALK In The Park Date Announced for 2024 at the Disneyland Resort

The Popular 5K Fundraiser CHOC WALK in the PARK will be in July for the First Time Ever!

The annual and ever-popular in-park 5K fundraiser “CHOC Walk in the Park,” presented by Disneyland Resort, returns this summer to raise funds for Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC), the pediatric healthcare system serving children and families in Orange County and throughout Southern California. The event is now in its 32nd year and will take place for the first time in July.

This will be our 8th year working along side Choc Children’s Hospital for the walk. Every year that passes, the importance of this unique fundraiser becomes more and more apparent to my daughter. In 2019 she met the Boyle Family and it was a defining year for her to truly understand the event and who it supported. The families story and the emotions she felt from meeting Brave Boyles mother and younger sister moved her to tears and as a mother of a child who is on the spectrum it made me so proud. There are important life lessons to be had by supporting such a cause as CHOC Walk in the Park…understanding, compassion and empathy for others is what my daughter has learned.

Celebrating the most precious things in our lives…. Our Children!

As the sun rises early on Sunday, July 21, 2024, enthusiastic fundraisers will begin their roughly three-mile course, winding through Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park, encountering fun, delightful, and whimsical surprises before the parks open to the public. “CHOC Walk in the Park is an extraordinary event that unites thousands of people from all over the world to help advance pediatric care, research, and education. Disneyland Resort and its cast members work tirelessly to ensure participants enjoy a memorable and magical experience..The walk event is the most unique and magical pediatric fundraiser in the nation and brings the community together for one single goal–to raise funds for research, education, and CHOC healthcare programs in the greatest need, all benefitting Southern California children and families.

Meet Our 2024 CHOC Walk Ambassador - Kara

When Kara was born, not all of her amniotic fluid could be expelled from her lungs, causing her to have trouble breathing. She also had a bacteria that put her at risk of developing pneumonia. She spent the first weeks of her life in the neonatal intensive care unit at CHOC, undergoing a regimen of antibiotics. But today, she is happy, healthy, and continues to give back proudly in her community by throwing events and speaking about CHOC to raise awareness.

We are excited to introduce Kara as this year’s CHOC Walk Ambassador for the 2024 CHOC Walk in the Park! Kara and her family are representing their CHOC Walk team – Super Kara and Friends, and leading CHOC Walk on Sunday, July 21 at the Disneyland® Resort!

“By moving the event to late July, we hope to help families join us by avoiding conflicts with back-to-school activities or planned August family vacations,” stated Jessica Miley, senior vice president and chief development officer for CHOC. “The date change will also help us avoid any liquid sunshine (like last year’s Hurricane Hilary),which was a ‘first’ for all of us during CHOC Walk.”Event information, registration specifics, and information on joining or forming a team can be found atwww.chocwalk.org.
