Summer Camps are Back at Musical Theatre Orange County

Summer Camps are Back at Musical Theatre Orange County

It’s almost summer vacation! Many of our kids have been home and deprived from so many of their activities so I wanted to share this amazing opportunity! Summer camps are back at the Musical Theatre Orange County and what’s ever better is they are offering two that are Disney themed! If your child is expressing interest in the performing arts I highly recommend MTOC. All camps are an opportunity for new and veteran performers to grow their skills. Is your kid new to drama and theatre, no experience is necessary. Camp sizes are kept to 15 - 20 students with 3 instructors for each camp including a director, choreographer and Musical Director.

These week long camps are a fun way to introduce your child to singing, acting, dancing, and all elements that make up a show. What’s more important is that ALL students are given a chance to shine no matter their experience. Each camp is unique and specialized for each group of attending students. During the week long camps your child will participate in group numbers, small groups, and solos. More than just performing, students also build friendships and connections while growing their talents within a nurturing environment.

A Day at Disneyland

"A Day at Disneyland" campers will learn songs and dances from our favorite park music, everything from walking down Mainstreet, to "It's a small world", to "Pirates of the Caribbean", to parades, and Walt's favorite ending, "When you wish upon a Star". At the end of the week, the campers will perform what they learned as if it were a day walking through disneyland. Students will also have opportunities to wear different costumes and "disneybound" throughout the week and for the performance. The Class will perform the numbers for a small invited group, on the last Friday of camp (July 23).

Runs July 19 – 23 Camp is 3.5 hour/day, for 1 week. Cost is $435

Monday – Friday 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM – Ages 8 to 19

During the week long camp "Disney Villains," students will have an opportunity to take on some of their favorite villain characters through their great music, afterall who doesn't love a good Villain Song. "Be Prepared" for some fun surprises and great character work. Don't be one of the "Poor Unfortunate Souls" that doesn't sign up to this camp. The Class will perform the numbers they have learned for a small invited group on the last Friday of camp (July 30).

So is Musical Theatre Orange County right for my child? Our personal testimonial and first hand experience with MTOC. My daughter is currently taking 1:1 drama classes online weekly and it has improved my daughters speech, delivery, understanding of inferences and so much more. She has also attended their group classes and enjoyed participating in a past summer camp. My girl made new friends, felt accepted and found a fun and welcoming group of instructors as well as peers who let her express her inner self freely and without judgement. It really is a super supportive group the theatre brings together.

As for the staff and instructors, it’s not only a family affair but the also have top notch instructors many with a background rooted in Disney and matched by their love of sharing theatre with kids of all ages.
