Descanso Gardens Announces the 2021 Dates for Their Popular Holiday Events Carved and Enchanted Forest of Light
Descanso Gardens unique take on Halloween and the holidays are back this year. Carved will be happening October 11-31, 2021 and will feature exciting new displays and experiences. Enchanted which is one of out top choices for holiday lights will be held November 21, 2021-January 10, 2022 with a special preview party on November 20, 2021.
Carved is a family-friendly event for all ages and for three weeks in October, thousands of carved pumpkins will line a 1-mile walk through the Camellia Forest and Oak Grove. Along with pumpkins, there will be exciting new oversized sculptures made of sticks and other natural materials, along with interactive animated totems. Pumpkin carving demonstrations, the ever-popular pumpkin house, a hay maze, themed food & beverage and picnic style seating will all help to create a fun harvest festival ambiance.
Enchanted Forest of Light returns this year and will be open from November 21, 2021 - January 10, 2022. New this year will be an entire town of magical “stained glass” creations built in the Rose Garden by contemporary sculptor Tom Fruin. Popular returning favorites returning include sparkling, swirling installations from HYBYCOZO on the Main Lawn, Flower Power on the Promenade and exquisite lighting effects in the Ancient Forest.
Tickets for both Carved and Enchanted will go on sale in September for Descanso members and October to the general public. I highly recommend both of these unique events.
Founded as a public garden in 1953, Descanso Gardens is located at 1418 Descanso Drive, La Cañada Flintridge, CA 91011. Descanso Gardens is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (closed on December 25). Admission is $15 for adults; $11 for seniors and students with a school I.D.; $5 for children 5 to 12, and free for children under 5.
